Many problems and crashes will get dumped in a server.log file. This can help to analyze what went wrong and how to fix it.
If you want to get help in the forums, this log is needed as it will allow other members to see what happened.

Where do I find the Server.log?

The Server.log file can be found in your server directory:

  • Vanilla: /minecraft/logs/server.log
  • Bukkit: /minecraftbukkit/logs/server.log
  • Canary: /minecraftcanary/logs/server.log

How do I download this Server.log?

  • Way 1: Go to your Webinterface, click on server console and to the right of the server.log path there should be a little download button.
  • Way 2: You can the FTP server to access the data and download it through an external FTP client. A detailed guide can be found here.

How do I post this log?

There are four ways to post the server.log to our forums.

  • 1. Attachment

This is the best way to upload you server log. Keep in mind that there is a restriction of 2MB. Dateianhang.PNG

  • 2. Code

The code tag should only be used for very short server logs.

  • 3. pastebin.com

The website www.pastebin.com offers the user to upload text documents. You could copy your whole server log and upload it to pastebin.

  • 4. mediafire.com

You can also just upload the file to a data hoster like www.mediafire.com.
