XML - Setting Player Spawns in DayZ

Rent your own prepaid DayZ server for PC, PS4 or Xbox today at Nitrado.net
Here you will learn how to set the player spawns on your DayZ server
Where to start?
To set player spawns, you will need to gather your cords and alter the "cfgplayerspawnpoints.xml" folder accordingly. Let's get started.
First, a couple important notes:
- You will not need to make changes to the spawn grid, only the position bubbles.
- It is recommended to do these changes from a PC.
- Be sure your server is stopped before editing files.
- Avoiding this step can cause severe problems in the server
- We suggest stopping the server for 3-5 minutes before making changes.
- Save your changes, then start the server.
Gathering Cords
Cords can be gathered in a few ways.
1. Using a helpful site like "iZurvive" that displays cords
2. Alternatively, you can gather a specific position from the admin log by letting a zombie or friend hit you. The line will look like this:
* 23:49:05 | Player "gamertag" (id=tagID- pos=<12085.7, 3391.4, 3.0>)[HP: 20.5783] hit by Infected into Torso(1) for 6.75 damage (MeleeZombie_Heavy)
- the part in the line above, pos=<12085.7, 3391.4, will be your X and , Z cords.
3. You can also activate the "Log Playerlist" option on your Settings > general
page. The line will look like this:
12:12:42 | Player "gamertag" (id=TAGID- pos=<12015, 3455.1, 5.7>)
Editing Spawn Cords
To edit your spawn coordinates, you will need to access the "cfgplayerspawnpoints.xml".
- Navigate to your Nitrado Web Interface
- Now from the dashboard, on the left-hand side, go to
Tools > Filebrowser
and you will see the server settings. - You will need to open the following folders:
dayzxb_missions > dayzOffline.chernarusplus
- Now click on and open your "cfgplayerspawnpoints.xml"
- Scroll to the line "<generator_posbubbles>":
- You need to remove any default spawns configured that you don't want.
- We set a single spawn in Kamyshovo. Here is how it will look:
- Your character will now only spawn in this location: (visualized with IZurvive map)
