The database system for Epoch, Redis, contains the progress for players, positions of AI on the map, logs, and much more. To avoid any loss of data, this article will explain the easiest method of backing up your database.

To do this, an FTP connection needs to be established with your Epoch Server.

  • Navigate to the "arma/DB" directory.
  • The database is located here in the form of the file dump.rdb.
  • download this to your computer, and keep it in a safe location.
  • The database has been successfully backed up when the download is finished.

Keep in mind that any updates to Epoch could potentially change the database structure, rendering any old backups unusable. Typically, this is noted in the changelog.
