Install Mods on Space Engineers Server

Here we want to show you, how to install Mods on your dedicated Space Engineers server.
Platforms
The game can be played on a PC or on an Xbox Console where both have different criteria regarding the settings of the servers as well as for the mods. Just click on the platform you and your friends are playing to directly get the right instructions, on how to install mods on your server.

PC/Steam only
Please note that these settings are only relevant if all players connect to the server with the Steam version.- Stop the server
- Select a suitable mod in the Steam Workshop for Space Engineers
- access the general setting of your server via the web interface
- Then look up for the parameter Mod IDs
- Then insert the Mod IDs of the mods you want to use, every ID needs to be entered in a separate line.
The server will pull mods from the Steam Workshop, double check before enabling that you don't have Mod.io IDs in the box
Please be aware that some mods will require a New world to be generated for them to be Installed/Uninstalled.- Save the changes
- Start your server
Your server then will download the mod files automatically from steam, that's why the first start of the server might take a bit longer then usually.
Xbox only / Crossplay
Since it is possible that friends with an Xbox are able to join the server but the mods on Steam cannot be installed on the console, there is the possibility to add mods from Mod.io
Please note that these settings are only relevant if you have an Xbox server or if the Crossplay Option is active on your server.- Stop the server
- Select a suitable mod from Mod.io
- access the general setting of your server via the web interface
- Then look up for the parameter Mod IDs
- Then insert the Mod IDs of the mods you want to use, every ID needs to be entered in a separate line.
Steam/PC only
- Activate the "Crossplay" option a bit further below
With Crossplay active, the ModID box will pull mods from mod.io, double check before enabling that you don't have Steam Workshop IDs in the box- Save the changes
- Start your server
Your server then will download the mod files automatically from Mod.io, that's why the first start of the server might take a bit longer then usually.
Please note that only "NoScript" Mods are working on Xbox.
