How to upload an existing world to Valheim

Here you will learn how to upload an existing world to Valheim gameserver.

Before you continue please check our guide How to use your server's FTP you will need FileZilla to access the server files via FTP.

Step-by-step guide

  • Stop your server and open FileZilla or any FTP client and connect to the server using your FTP credentials (You can find them on the dashboard of your server).

  • On the left side of the FileZilla window (Local Site) please navigate to the following directory: C:\Users\(Your PC Username)\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds

  • On the right side of the FileZilla window (Remote Site) please navigate to the following directory: /valheim/savedata/

  • Select the worlds folder, right click and select upload.

  • Your server's world needs to match exactly the same name of the existing world, you can change your world's name on the general settings of your Nitrado web interface

  • Save changes.
  • Start your server.
