There are two different ways to connect to an Unreal Tournament 2004 server

Please note: Unreal Tournament 2004 seems to have long times when connecting to a new server.

Method 1: Steam Favorites List

  • Start your Steam program
  • Go to "View->Servers" in the header bar
  • Click on the favorites tab
  • Add your server to favorites using IP address and port

  • Launch your local game client Unreal Tournament 2004
  • Open the server browser and select "favorites" as the list type
  • The added server should now appear

Method 2: Direct boot option

  • Start your Steam program
  • Go to "Games->View Game Library" in the header bar
  • right click on "Unreal Tournament 2004"
  • Select the menu item "Properties"
  • Click the "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS" button
  • Enter + connect 127.0.0.1:27015 in the text input field (change the example IP with the IP address of your game server)

    • Use + connect 127.0.0.1:27015 + password "YOURPASSWORD" if the server is password protected
  • Confirm with OK
  • Launch Unreal Tournament 2004 via Steam and it should connect directly to the defined server
