How to connect to an Unreal Tournament 2004 server

There are two different ways to connect to an Unreal Tournament 2004 server
Please note: Unreal Tournament 2004 seems to have long times when connecting to a new server.
Method 1: Steam Favorites List
- Start your Steam program
- Go to "View->Servers" in the header bar
- Click on the favorites tab
- Add your server to favorites using IP address and port
- Launch your local game client Unreal Tournament 2004
- Open the server browser and select "favorites" as the list type
- The added server should now appear
Method 2: Direct boot option
- Start your Steam program
- Go to "Games->View Game Library" in the header bar
- right click on "Unreal Tournament 2004"
- Select the menu item "Properties"
- Click the "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS" button
- Enter + connect 127.0.0.1:27015 in the text input field (change the example IP with the IP address of your game server)
- Use + connect 127.0.0.1:27015 + password "YOURPASSWORD" if the server is password protected
- Confirm with OK
- Launch Unreal Tournament 2004 via Steam and it should connect directly to the defined server
