Examples for domain forwarding configurations

A brief explanation about wildcard entries:

* All subdomains (eg. www) will be forwarded to the given target. Please not that direct requests to this domain (eg. won't be affected by the asterisk character.
@ This will forward all direct requests to your domain.

You may use any other subdomain instead of the described wildcard characters.

Redirect to

Domain redirect HTTPH.jpg

This will give you the possibility to redirect your domain to any other domain of your choice.
Please not the this will cause a HTTP code 301 redirect, which means that the target domain ( will be displayed in the browsers navigation bar.

Domain redirect HTTPF.jpg

You may redirect your domain to any other site without actually leaving your own using this method.
Notice: This may not work for everyone due to some providers don't support this type of forwarding.

You are able to manipulate the displayed title of the page which is shown in the browsers tab. The two meta settings are only important for search engines such as Google.

There is also the possibility to set HTTPS (Header) and HTTPS (Frame) entries, which are practically the same as the above mentioned method except that they support SSL / TSL (HTTPS).

Forward to a Gameserver

Domain redirect A Gameserver.jpg

We will connect the rented domain to a Gameserver or basically to any service using the IP 123.456.789.123.
This will work like a synonym, so in theory "" equals "123.456.789.123" after setting this record.

Domain redirect SRV Gameserver.jpg

SRV is a shortcut for service, which pretty much explains what this type of record does. The settings shown in the image on the left tells your nameserver to redirect every request made by a Minecraft client to the given domain using the entered port. It is important to always enter a port, even if it's the default port for the game / service.
Please note that you may only enter a domain and not a IP address as target.

Redirect to a Gameserver, Voiceserver or Webseite

  1. If a Nitrado hosted Webspace is used, proceed as following:
Go to our website and navigate to "My services" -> "Domains" -> "Allocate to webspace package" to link your domain to your Webspace.

  2. Navigate to "My services" -> "Domains" -> "Edit DNS" a add a @ wildcard entry using the pen symbol and creating a #SRV-Record as described above.
A direct request to your TopLevelDomain ( from the corresponding clients will now be redirected to the given target.
Note: Request from your web browser won't be affected by this setting.

Note: Changes to your DNS settings will take 5 to 10 minutes to take effect.
