Connecting to a Valheim Gameserver

Here you will learn how to connect to your Valheim gameserver.

In game direct connect

• Launch the game
• Select your character and click Start

• Select the tab Join Game and then click on the option Join IP

• Type in the IP and Port of the server as it shows in your Nitrado web interface.

Note: The IP and Port needs to be the exact same as on your Web interface. If you join in game please use the Game Port and if you join the server via Steam, please use the Query Port (needed on the steam favorites list)

IF THE INCORRECT PORT IS TYPED, THE SERVER WILL NOT RESPOND

Note: If the server is password protected you will be prompted to and option to type in the password.

Step by step

• Open Steam
• On the top bar select View, scroll down, and select Servers. This will open a new window

• On the top bar, change the tab to the Favorites option. 
• On the bottom right corner select "Add server". Will open a little window requesting an IP

• Enter your server IP Address and replace the port number for the one displayed in the dashboard on your Nitrado web interface. The IP address will be the same +1, for example: 85.190.156.150:13000 and the query port is 13001, the IP address to type would be: 85.190.156.150:13001

NOTE: IF THE INCORRECT PORT IS TYPED, THE SERVER WILL APPEAR AS NOT RESPONDING

• Click Find games at this address and you will see your server
• Select "Add this address to favorites"
• If you attempt to connect right away an error message gets displayed, close that window and select on the bottom right corner Refresh

• Select your server from the list and click Connect

Server Password

Your server is protected by a password to limit the access to selected players that you have to share the password with, this can be found on the general settings of your Nitrado web interface

Note: Please do not delete the password from your server settings, this is a necessary setting for the server to work properly. The password must be different from the server name.
